Therapy for authentic souls navigating the wilds of life.

“Trauma-informed, somatic, & nature rooted therapy for releasing the past, moving through change, and reclaiming your true self.”

Nicole Jefferson

Hi, I’m Nicole — a nature-rooted, trauma-informed therapist in Golden & Fort Collins, Colorado.

I help people untether from the weight of the past — the grief that lingers, the perfectionism that pushes, the old narratives that keep you small. Maybe you’re feeling lost in life, disconnected from your purpose, or spiritually adrift. Maybe you’re still living in survival mode, held hostage by the stories and patterns that no longer serve you.

My work is a blend of somatic therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and parts work, grounded in the wild presence of nature. We might meet in my office, walk a trail, or sit under an open sky — giving your body and soul space to speak. Together, we’ll listen for what’s true, grieve what’s been lost, and make room for the life that’s calling.

This is work that honors your whole being — body, mind, and spirit — so you can return to yourself with clarity, compassion, and courage.

If you’re ready to slow down and meet yourself with curiosity and kindness, you’re in the right place.

I also believe in the power of community care. When aligned with your goals, I encourage a collaborative approach that may involve working alongside a team of wellness practitioners, such as bodyworkers, acupuncturists, herbalists, osteopaths, and others. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and I’m here to support a web of care that nurtures your entire being. Whether we meet indoors, outdoors, or virtually, I intend to offer a space where you feel seen, supported, and safe to explore what’s possible. My hope is that you leave our work together feeling more rooted in your body, connected to your purpose, and free to live as your most authentic self.

Meet Nicole.

Hi, I’m Nicole Jefferson (MA, LPCC), founder and lead practitioner at Wilding Therapy. I’m a licensed professional counselor, trauma-informed, EMDR-trained, and somatic experiencing therapist (in-training) with a deep passion for the human journey and the healing power of the natural world.

Wilding Therapy is board-licensed and certified therapy and mental health coaching in beautiful Golden and Ft Collins, Colorado. We help individuals and groups better deal with life when things get hairy.

We support people navigating:

• Life transitions & identity shifts
When you're standing at a threshold—no longer who you were, not yet who you're becoming. Whether it's a career change, motherhood, loss, or a quiet inner shift, we offer space to land.

• Trauma, grief & generational pain
The stories are held in your body, your lineage, and your nervous system. We move gently, with respect for the weight of what you carry—and the possibility of healing.

• Burnout, overwhelm & anxiety
For those who’ve done too much, held too much, and lost touch with their rhythm. We help you slow down, reconnect, and restore.

• Women’s issues & high-achiever fatigue
If you’ve been the strong one, the capable one, the one who gets it done, we welcome your softness too. We hold space for your wholeness, not just your performance.

• Feeling lost, behind, or disconnected
Even if nothing looks “wrong” on the outside, you might feel far from yourself. That matters. We help you come home—gently, slowly, and in your own time.

Our background is academic, but our practice is human.

Individual Therapy

We match approaches with an individual’s needs, desires, comforts, and concerns. We will work together to identify the areas of your life you’d like to explore and unpack.

Wilding Women’s Groups and Retreats

We created this space because women are magic; when women gather, that magic becomes unstoppable. A Wilding Women’s Circle is more than a meeting—it is a sacred homecoming, a place to remember who we are and the power we carry within.

Nature Based Therapy

The outdoors offers grace, love, peace, forgiveness, and healing. We frequently use nature as a backdrop for deep and meaningful work.

Things to Consider When Beginning Therapy
a gentle guide as you begin this journey with intention

Beginning therapy is a brave and tender step—one that asks you to show up for yourself in a new way. Whether you're coming in with a clear intention or simply sensing it's time for change, know this: your path is yours, and it deserves to be honored with care.

Here are some reflections to hold as you begin:

1. Connection is Medicine
The relationship you build with your therapist is the heart of the work. It's not just about training—it's about energy.
👉 Do you feel safe, seen, and supported in their presence?
Meet with a few therapists if you can. Trust your body’s wisdom when something feels like a “yes.”

2. Consistency Builds Trust
Healing happens over time, in layers and seasons.
Therapy isn’t linear, and it’s not a quick fix—but with regular sessions, space opens.
👉 Ask yourself: What rhythm feels realistic for me right now—weekly, biweekly, monthly?

3. Consider the Investment
Therapy is a commitment to your well-being—emotionally, energetically, and financially.
👉 Can I sustainably invest in myself right now?
We can always talk about what’s possible within your means.

4. You’re Not Meant to Do This Alone
Healing often works best within a wider web of care.
If it feels aligned, we can bring in support from other wellness modalities:
✨ Bodywork
✨ Acupuncture
✨ Herbalism
✨ Osteopathy
✨ Spiritual or community support

👉 Together, we co-create the team that nurtures your whole being.

5. Bring Your Whole Self
You don’t need to be “ready” or have it all figured out.
Come as you are. We’ll honor all of it—your grief, your joy, your rage, your longing.
👉 This is a space for your full, wild, beautiful humanity.

6. Therapy Within the Larger World
So many of the wounds we carry aren’t just personal—they’re systemic.
Together, we’ll name and untangle the cultural, generational, and collective conditioning that keeps you from your power.
👉 Therapy can be a space of liberation.
